PM Modi Slashes LPG Cylinder Prices by Rs 100 on Women's Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a significant reduction in the prices of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders by Rs 100 on International Women’s Day. Taking to his official social media handle, PM Modi stated, "Today, on Women's Day, our Government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by 100. This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti".
Emphasizing the broader impact of the decision, Modi added, "By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for them".
The move aligns with PM Modi's longstanding commitment to women-led development, a principle evident in his leadership since assuming office in 2014. During his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, he established a high-powered committee dedicated to women's welfare, leading to the formulation of the 'Nari Gaurav Niti' in 2002.
This policy aimed at creating awareness across administrative departments about women's socio-economic, educational, and developmental needs, with active involvement in its implementation. In 2006, the Gujarat state government officially introduced the 'Nari Gaurav Niti' policy to promote gender equality and sensitize government departments to the importance of women's welfare.
As India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi continues to prioritize women's empowerment and women-led development, reflecting the enduring principles embedded in his leadership philosophy. The reduction in LPG cylinder prices on International Women’s Day underscores his ongoing commitment to improving the lives of women across the nation.
